Schlage Connect Battery Drain

1) Check on the Power

The first thing that you should check if you find your battery is fully drained is the power supply on your place. There are chances that you might not have power for hours and that can cause your battery to drain totally and you will not be having any backup at all. This is quite alarming as you will lose the connectivity to your lock and it might not unlock at several occasions as well. So, make sure that you have the right power. Also, once the power is back, it can take 3-4 hours for the battery to be fully charged and after that, you will not have to face any issues on your lock battery.

2) Reset the Lock

If you think that the power is up and there are no issues on that end, then your lock might be stuck in some loop and not charging battery at all. So, you will need to reset the lock in order to ensure that you can get the best battery backup and it is not being drained for no reason.

The reset is pretty simple and you can either reset the lock with your mobile if you have one connected with the lock. If not, you will need to open the back of your lock with a screwdriver and remove the battery from its connectors. This should be pretty easy for you. Once you have removed the battery, press the Schlage button once and then reconnect the battery with lock. After reconnecting the battery with your lock, you need to keep the Schlage button pressed for 5-10 seconds. Afterwards the lights will flash on your lock and it will be reset perfectly. This is going to solve the issue for you most of the times and you will not have to worry about the battery being drained again.

3) Check the Lock

If you are still not able to make it work after you have tried all of the troubleshooting above, there might be something wrong with the lock. It can be either the wiring, the battery might have gone bad or there is something else that might need to fix. Take the lock to Schlage service center and they will be able to share the perfect solution with you that might be repair or replacing the battery or any other issues related to the wiring.
