Common Nanit Plus Problems Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Analytics
If you’re having trouble getting the correct analytics from your Nanit cam then it is likely that you did something wrong in the installation process. Which makes it impossible for the cam to record the correct data.
First of all, you have to make sure that you’ve followed every step mentioned in the user manual correctly. The most probable cause for this error is that the Nanit cam is not able to see the full crib which makes it unable to record data effectively. Make sure that the cam is set up in a manner that it can record the full crib and also some area to record the parent’s visit. If the issue still exists then you have to make sure that you put the accurate data of your baby in the Nanit app. Make sure the DoB is updated in the Nanit app. You can also manually change the sleep data in the Nanit app by just accessing the in-app calendar and updating the data.
- No Temperature Reading
The main sensors for humidity and temperature are present in the Nanit cam’s stand, which then transfer the relevant data to your phone through the smart device. If you’re not getting the correct temperature status or it is missing altogether then you can follow these steps to sort out your problem.
It is most likely that you’ve not connected the camera properly with the stand, which is why the sensors in the stand are not giving accurate data. Just take the camera out of the stand and wait for around 5 minutes before putting it back in the stand. Make sure that it is properly attached to the stand so that it can communicate with the sensors. After doing so if you’re still not getting any temperature reading then we recommend that you switch your stand with another one.
In case you’re getting incorrect data but the reading is still showing then it is usually because of a minor bug in the app software. Updating the app can easily sort out this issue. Just go into the app advanced settings and check to see if there is a firmware update available. Click the Update button and wait till it is finished.
- Poor Video Quality
It is one of the most common problems that users often complain about. Most often than not it is due to the poor signal strength of your home network. Nanit cam requires around 2mbps of constant upload and download speed to be able to work properly at the high video quality.
If your connection does not match these requirements then what you can do is open up your Nanit app and go to network settings. From there move the bandwidth usage to low. Doing this will not improve the video quality but rather make the video run more smoothly. If you want to increase the video quality then you have to improve your home network. Either move the router closer to the cam or give it a quick restart to sort out minor bugs.
