Vivint hub is one of the finer options provided by Vivint. The panel is used to help the user be able to display and control all of his important appliances in the smart home.

Thanks to the panel, the user is allowed to perform all kinds of operations on it.

The setup is not always the easiest. However, that doesn’t mean that you can experiment with different features to figure out the right settings for your home.

It might take a few hours or a few days, even for the trial and error to finish. So, be sure to spare some time accordingly to avoid these issues.

On the other hand, if you’re not that sold on the idea of going through hours of configuration yourself, try hiring a local contractor.

These experts have years, if not decades, of knowledge about smart systems. A few bucks as hiring fees will help you get a better response from the smart panel in the long run.

How to Fix Vivint Panel Not Responding?

Many users have been experiencing difficulties while trying to operate the Vivint smart hub.

However, most of these users were facing issues with the Vivint panel. On further inspection, we found out that their Vivint panel is not responding at all.

If you have also found yourself in the same boat, then there’s nothing to worry about.

In this article, we will be explaining the troubleshooting steps which should help you in fixing the problem. Hence, let’s get started!

  1. Check Power Connections

Checking the power connections will come easy to you as you’re trying to figure out why exactly the Vivint Panel does not respond.

You can’t expect a panel to work when it can’t get enough power from the source. So, you might also be in the same situation.

The best way to confirm is to get a multimeter and then use that to check up on the power supply from the source.

You can check for continuity on the contact points and then make the replacement on the wiring or the power source to figure out the issue.

Ideally, all errors will be addressed as soon as you fix the power connection. There is no need to worry about going through more fixes down the road.

It all comes down to ensuring that the power to the system is optimal and there are no hardware errors with the device.

  1. There Might Be Hardware Issues

Vivint panel is not meant to last under rough conditions. However, that doesn’t mean that this device is fragile.

It is only meant for indoor use, and you shouldn’t expose the unit to rough conditions. That way, you will not have to deal with any functionality errors.

It all comes down to how you’re planning on addressing the situation. There is no point in trying to go through the fix when the system is not responding to basic input.

All that you need to do here is to check up on the hardware and make sure that there are no cracks or damaged sections.

Even if the unit is new, it might have sustained damage during delivery.

There is no debate that the delivery process can be a bit rough on some devices. So, you will have to inform the dealer about these issues while forwarding the warranty.

You need to understand that you’re not liable for any of these issues.

As long as you’re sure that you didn’t damage the unit during installation, the dealer will provide you with a replacement. That way, you can grab a fresh piece without dealing with more errors.

  1. Check Router Connection

Checking up on the router connection is another decent method of figuring out the situation.

If you’re sure that the issue is more related to the router connection and the power flow to the unit is optimal, then power cycle the router right away.

That will be enough to refresh the network, and you can go about adding the credentials back into the smart system to figure out the issue.

In most cases, you will not have to deal with any errors down the road.

However, some owners have pointed out that they had to remove interferences from other smart units and bring the router closer to the panel.

You might have to do the same as well, and there are no quick methods to go about it.

So, be sure to remove interferences and go through with the connection routine one more time.

This time around, you will be able to establish a secure connection that will work perfectly with the existing smart system.

  1. Go Through Installation Instructions

Sometimes, you will need to go just pick up the manual and dig through the mounting details.

There is always a chance that you messed something up during the installation phase. So, you will have to check up on each component to figure out the issue.

Once the problem has been identified, fixing it will come easy to you.

Figuring out the issue is half the problem, and fixing it will come easy to you as you’re trying to go through the installation routine.

On the other hand, if you can’t seem to figure out the situation even after going through with these pointers, then you need official support.

There are no quick methods of going about a fix at this point, and you should just call it a day.

The only logical thing that you can do from this point forward is to proceed with a reset. That will wipe away all of the stored data, and you will have to set up the system from the start.

  1. Try Resetting

In case you notice your smart panel not working or responding, then the first thing you will need to do is to reset the device.

It could be that your panel has frozen, in which case a reset should be able to fix the problem.

reset

A quick reset is undoubtedly the best option when it comes to fixing programming issues.

However, it will also wipe away all the stored data and configuration. You will have to set up the unit from scratch, and there are no other fixes to go around this situation.

Follow these steps in order to reset:

  • First of all, you will have to disarm your system.
  • Afterward, try disconnecting the panel from any type of power by unplugging the power source.
  • Now, remove the panel from the device’s backplate by simply sliding the panel up and off the mounting plate.
  • You will have to remove the battery from the panel, which will make the panel power down. You have to make sure that you set the panel down while doing this so that you don’t drop it.
  • Ensure the device remains in this state for at least 30 seconds, after which you have to put the battery back inside.
  • Remount the side panel and plug the panel back into your wall. After 2-3 minutes, the panel should start working again.

At this point, all the minor programming-related bugs will be addressed. You will not have to deal with the same errors, and making use of the Vivint panel will come easy to you.

Just be sure to follow through with the reset routine correctly, and there won’t be anything to worry about in the long run.

  1. Getting it Checked

If resetting does not help, then it is highly likely that there is something wrong with the panel.

expert advice

It could also be that the panel is faulty. In either case, you will have to either get it checked by a professional or get it replaced.

Before you try any of these steps, one last thing that you can do is contact customer support.

Anyone from the team will reach out to you and suggest you the right solutions that should lead to helping you fix the problem for good.

If you’re lucky, a quick power cycle will be all that you need to get through the fix. There are no extensive routines involved, and setting up the system is fairly simple for most owners.

It all comes down to how much time you’re willing to invest in fixing the device.

Sometimes, a basic troubleshooting guide is all that you need to get through minor errors. However, if the issue is more serious, you will have to hire an expert to help with the configurations.

There is no point in wasting hours of your time trying to fix the situation on your own.

All that you need to do is to either reach out to the official support or call in an expert from the local hardware store.

Either way, you need to make sure that a professional is helping you every step of the way, and you will not have to deal with more errors down the road.

  2. I have a problem with mine I can’t seem to find a solution to anywhere. I have tried setting it more than once. Also tried rebooting my internet. The panel won’t stop clicking and it changes screens automatically sometimes. Doesn’t seem like hacking because it does it when disconnected from internet as well, though more when connected.
