In this article, we will be taking a look at all the different ways on how you can get the issue fixed. So, without wasting any time further, let’s get started!

  1. Check the Remote Batteries

In order for a remote to work properly, it needs to have a constant supply of power through batteries. However, after constantly using your remote for extended periods of time, the batteries will die out in a couple of months.

When that happens, you will start losing most of the remote’s functionalities. If that is the case for you as well, then all you have to do is to change the batteries in your remote.

Another thing that you can do in order to fix the problem is to try pairing the remote to your Amazon Echo device. To do this, we recommend that you follow these set of instructions:

  • Go to your settings.
  • Pair your remote in the Alexa app.
  • Now, press and hold the remote’s Play/Pause button for five seconds while Amazon Echo is searching.
  1. Check for Purple Spinning Light

In case you find a purple spinning light on the device, it could be that you have more than one remote connected. Whatever’s the case, you will need to press your Play/Pause button on the remote. Ensure that you do this procedure on the remote that you want to connect with.

  1. Get it Replaced

Having a faulty unit is another possible reason due to which you are facing this issue. In any case, you will have to get the remote replaced. You can try contacting customer support. If you received a faulty unit from the get-go, or if the remote is still under warranty, you should be able to get a replacement unit sent to you for free!

    • Mine has started doing that, and also some times I need to press the voice butter at the stars and at the end of the command. Now only the volume works.

Tried on two echos, and even a new remote I found. Still the same.

Contacted tech support but at moment they can not help, it has been given to a higher level support team.

      Fingers crossed.
