Common Wyze Cam Problems Troubleshooting

  1. Cam Not Connecting

A lot of users have mentioned issues with getting their Wyze Cam connected to the Wi-Fi network. The Wyze camera requires a 24/7 internet connection to work properly otherwise it will be frequently showing you errors. Luckily, it is quite easy to resolve this issue just follow these steps.

This issue is often because of a minor bug that can easily be resolved by a quick power cycle. So just unplug the cam from the power sources and wait for around 10 seconds. After that just plug the cam back in and try connecting to the Wi-Fi. A few things you have to make sure of is that your Wi-Fi is broadcasting a 2.4GHz channel. You can go into your router settings using the web interface to check this feature.

If your Wi-Fi router has a dual bandwidth feature then you have to make sure that you connect your smart device to the 2.4GHz channel otherwise it won’t connect. Sometimes this issue can also happen due to weak signal strength. So, just move the router closer to the smart cam and that will sort out the signal strength issue.

  1. Cam Not Turning On

Some users have been complaining about their Wyze Cam not turning on. Most often than not this error occurs because of issues with the power supply. Either your cable or outlet might be defective or maybe you just didn’t install them properly.

For the majority of users, this issue was resolved by making sure that cables are pushed in. Because the connection points can’t meet which makes your smart cam unable to draw power from the cable. If the issue still exists then you need to check whether or not your cable is working properly. Try connecting another device to the power cable to see if it works properly. Replacing the power cables can sort out this problem most of the time.

The last thing you have to check is the power outlet and whether or not it is working properly. Just plug in another appliance or use a multimeter to check the power outflow from the outlet. If it is lower than the recommended amount mentioned in the user manual then you have to either replace the outlet or use another power source to get your smart cam to work.
