1) Re-pair the remote
Most of the times, you need to pair the remote with Simplisafe home system and that can be a trouble if for some reason there is some kind of error in the pairing process or the remote might not be working as expected. This should be a pretty easy fix for you as you don’t need to do much here. Just keep the setup button pressed on your remote and it will start the pairing process automatically with the smart hub that you are using from the Simplisafe. Once the setup is complete, the light will blink a couple of times to confirm and then it will be working fine without any major issues or errors on the remote.
2) Replace the batteries
Another thing that can hinder the remote experience is that the batteries might be low or drained out and you will not be able to use the remote if that is the case. Now, while it is an easy task to do on most of the remotes, you can have a hard time locating the batteries on your Keychain remote that you get from Simplisafe.
What you will need to do is take the cap off the keyring on the opposite side to where the ring is attached. Here, you will find the button to slide the battery cover off. You will need to press that button and that will help you access the batteries. Once you have access to the batteries, take them off and replace them with a fresh one. This should do the job for you and you will not have to face any issues with your remote connectivity or any other error of that sort on the remote.
3) Mind the distance
Now, there are some issues reported that the remote might not work if there is significant distance between the remote and the smart home hub. If they are in the same room or just in the next room, that should be okay, but if there are some rooms between then you will not be able to make the remote work over that distance. So, make sure that you are using the remote on minor distances and that will solve the issues that you are facing with your remote most of the times.
