Iris Wi-Fi smart switches are a great thing to have around the place as they offer you seamless connectivity with the devices and appliances that might not be smart on their own. The smart switches offered by Iris work with the Wi-Fi router and are controlled with your smartphone or any device that you might have the application on. You can control the current flow between a power socket and your appliance with a single tap on your phone screen. These switches work out great, but if you are having issues with pairing it, here is how you can fix this.

How To Fix Iris Wi-Fi Smart Switch Not Pairing?

1. Check the Wi-Fi network

You need to start with your Wi-Fi network if your Iris Wi-Fi smart switch is causing some issues with the pairing. It is not just about having a stable internet connection. Not that it doesn’t matter, but in addition to having a stable and working Wi-Fi network, and Internet connection, you should also be optimizing the Wi-Fi network perfectly.

For starters, you need to ensure that MAC filtering is disabled so that the Wi-Fi smart switch can be paired easily over the network. You also need to ensure that no firewalls and VPNs are enabled on the router settings that can cause any sort of issues with the connectivity. You will also need to switch your Wi-Fi Frequency to 2.4Ghz if you are running it on 5Ghz and that will make it work out flawlessly for you. Make sure that you are restarting the Wi-Fi router so that settings can be saved after you make changes to them.

2. Reset the Switch

Another thing that you can try if you have worked with the Wi-Fi is to reset the switch to its default settings. What you will need to do here is to unplug the Iris smart switch safely from the power socket and let it be for a while. A minute or two will do the trick and after that, you can plug it back in. It might take some time for the switch to reset and start over. Be mindful that it will also be triggering a firmware update on the switch so expect anything from a minute to five for the switch to be responsive once again. Once it has been reset properly, you should be able to pair it without any issues.

3. Check the App

There might be some issues with the application that can cause problems with the pairing. To start with, you need to ensure that your smartphone needs to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network when you are pairing it with the Iris smart Wi-Fi switch. You will also need to check if there are any sorts of VPN applications activated on your phone and disable them to make it work.

Application errors or pending updates can also be troublesome so, ensure that you have the latest version of the Iris application downloaded and installed on your device and that is going to sort all the issues for you.
