Wyze makes a lot of different smart home cameras and deciding which one to buy can be confusing. If you swap the OG for v4, night images change. The OG shows more grain and marks at night, especially during the full 1080p image on a computer. Even so you testing showed that the image of v3 at night without IR lights or spotlight indeed beat the v4 in darkness without any light.
The Pan cameras form another good option. Choosing between Pan v2 and Pan v3 can be hard, because the differences are not always clear. The v2 costs around ten dollars more per camera.
The panoramic view of the v3 Pan is a feature that no other model matches.
For battery powered options the Wyze Cam Outdoor v2 and Wyze Battery Cam Pro both give up to six months of battery life with around ten to twenty events a day. Overall the Wyze smart home cameras deliver video quality of 1080p to 4K with good motion detection and alerts, safe for use inside and outside.
These are twenty-five dollar cameras, so expectations should match the price. For that cost they are great. Wyze had some security problems recently, like a bug that caused some users to accidentally see uploaded events of others.
Subscription is not needed, but the app insists about it during taps on certain options. Existing hardware generally works well, and updates for every generation help to keep everything current during a good sale.
