Although there are plenty of brands that offer smart security cameras, EZVIZ is a decent option that you can go for. Even though these aren’t as popular as other notorious companies like Wyze and Google, they are still known to perform quite well under most circumstances.

However, if you have a pair of these lying around in your house, chances are that you might have been struggling with the error EZVIZ live view not supported on Alexa. If that is the case, then here are some things that you can do to get it fixed:

How to Fix EZVIZ Live View Not Supported On Alexa?

  1. Device Not Supported

One thing to know about EZVIZ cloud cameras is that only a certain number of their products are able to support the Alexa skill. It is possible that you may be using a camera model that isn’t fully supported by Alexa.

As of now, only the Mini, Mini O, Mini Plus, Mini 360 Plus, Mini Trooper, Husky and Husky dome are supported by Alexa. In case you have been using any other EZVIZ cloud camera, you won’t be able to get your Alexa to work with it.

  1. Setting Up Your Camera

Before you successfully enable the Alexa skill on your camera, there are certain things that you may have to set up. First, make sure that you log in to your app and turn off Image Encryption under the settings.

Apart from that, ensure to select an authentic name for the camera.

  1. Configuring Alexa With EZVIZ Skills

In order for your camera to work with Alexa, make sure to follow these steps:

  • Start with logging into your Alexa app.
  • Under the menu, go to the skills tab.
  • Search EZVIZ using the search bar located on the top. Navigate to EZVIZ and ensure that you have enabled the skill.
  • Now, you will be prompted to enter both your username and password for EZVIZ which will then give Alexa access to your account.
  • Choose “Discover Devices” after which Alexa will discover all of your EZVIZ devices.
  • Go back to your menu, and choose smart home. In the devices tab, you will now be able to see all of your EZVIZ devices.

Another thing that you should make sure of just in case is to have a reliable internet connection at all times.

The Bottom Line:

Are you also getting the error “EZVIZ live view not supported on Alexa?” If so, then chances are that you might be using a particular model that isn’t supported by Alexa. If that is the case, then we’re afraid there is nothing that you can do about it.

    • I have the same issue on my echo show 5, but not the larger device. Logged it with Amazon who said it was a very common problem and they were working on it. This was just before Christmas 2022.
