The biggest selling point for smart devices is how easy it is to control them from anywhere, all you have to do is to tap on/off buttons on the app, and your smart device will start working.

Furthermore, you can also connect these devices with other home automation apps like Alexa or Google Home.

So, if you’re in the market for better lighting system or security system, brands like Wyze, Govee, and Lumiman will attract your attention.

All of these options will serve you perfectly in the long run, and you’ll be able to save quite a bit of cash on the electricity bill.

Lumiman is a company that offers smart home products to its customers. However, recently a lot of people have been complaining about their Lumiman Smart bulbs not working.

In this article, we will be discussing some common Lumiman smart bulb problems and how you can fix them.

Common Lumiman Smart Bulb Problems Troubleshooting

  1. Lumiman Bulb Not Connecting

Multiple customers have been complaining about their Lumiman Smart bulbs not connecting to their home networks. This makes them unable to access their smart devices from the mobile app.

This causes a lot of frustration as one of the main reasons why people buy smart devices is to have the ability to access them remotely. Here are a few possible fixes you can follow if you’re having similar issues.

restart router

First of all, you should power cycle your router. Most often than not, it fixes connection errors. So, just unplug the power, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.

If the issue still exists, then you need to make sure that your Wi-Fi channel is set to 2.4GHz and not 5.0GHz. You can check the channel you’re on by going into the router settings using the web interface.

Also, make sure that you’re putting in your Wi-Fi credentials correctly, and if the issue is still not resolved, then you should try moving the router close to the smart bulb.

This will improve the signal strength, and you’ll be able to easily connect your smart blub to the home network.

  1. Lumiman Smart Bulb Not Changing Colors

If you just bought the bulb and can’t get it to change colors, then it is likely that there is some problem with the voltage. You’ll also notice your bulb flickering or flashing if the power flow is not working properly.

To pinpoint this issue, you should get yourself a multimeter to check the voltage. Just match the reading on the multimeter with the requirements mentioned in the user manual.

If your reading is less than the required amount, then you should try changing the power outlet. If the voltage reading is at the optimal level, then you should make sure that you’ve installed the smart bulb correctly.

If you’re unsure, then we recommend that you refer to the user manual or watch an online tutorial to ensure that the installation process is done correctly.

However, in some scenarios, it is also likely that the smart device is faulty, in which case the only option is to get it replaced. You should contact your supplier and ask for a replacement order if the warranty is still intact.

  1. Alexa Skill Not Working

The situation with the Alexa skill not working is usually not that serious and mostly related to configuration errors. So, you’ll have to get through the app settings one more time and try to add the Alexa skill again.

If the skill was working perfectly up to this point, you should first check the response from the router.

From there, you can easily isolate network-related issues, and there is no harm in rebooting the router. Once the connection is fixed, try using the Alexa skill again.

However, if you’re sure that the issue is more related to the Alexa application, then you’ll have to remove and add the skill again. All you’ll need to do here is to remove the skill from the Alexa app, reboot the phone, and then add it again.

After that, you will have to discover the Alexa device one more time. It will be much easier to fix the Alexa skill once you get through these errors.

So, keep that in mind if you can’t seem to get through the errors with the Alexa smart assistant.

  1. Bulb Won’t Turn On

If you’re stuck in a situation where the bulb won’t turn on, then check the response from the power supply. These bulbs won’t work until there is a constant flow of energy into the unit.

You need to use the app to turn them off or on. There is no need to turn off the switch directly.

So, if you’re using traditional switches, make sure that they are turned on at all times. Similarly, if you’re using a dimmer, we would recommend that you switch over to the traditional switch.

Going with a dimmer is not always the best idea.

This is especially true if you’re not sure about the compatibility of your model with the dimmer. After removing the dimmer, you can check the response from the unit one more time.

Ideally, the issue will be fixed right here, but you need to call an electrician if the issue is with the power supply.

You might electrocute yourself if you try to fix these issues yourself. So, try and spare some cash to hire an expert.

  1. Account Problems

Account problems are also not that rare but are mostly related to the server side of things. So, if you can’t seem to log onto the application or the account seems to be blocked, try again after an hour.

Usually, the server maintenance is no longer than an hour, and you’ll be able to get through the fix in no time.

However, if you’ve not been able to isolate the issue even after hours of waiting, then reach out to official support. They will help you get a better understanding of the issue.

  1. PlusMinus Not Working

Sometimes the error can occur in the smart device’s mobile app. Your app will keep crashing, or your smart device will start showing up offline. Most of the time, it can be because of a minor bug that you can easily fix.

If the app keeps crashing on you, then you can either clear app data or reinstall the smart app altogether, and your issue will most probably be fixed.

You can clear the app data by going into the phone app settings.

If the bulb shows up as offline on your app while you’re sure that it is connected to Wi-Fi and power, then you should go into your PlusMinus app and remove the bulb from the app.

After that, close the app and restart your phone. When the phone boots up again, launch the app and pair the bulb with the app. This will most probably take care of that incorrect status bug.

honey support

If you’re still having trouble after trying all of these fixes, then it is recommended that you contact Lumiman support. Just make sure to provide them with all the relevant information about your issue.

This will enable them to help you more effectively. You can either mail them or open up a support ticket by going to their official website.
