I have to confess that I am someone who doesn’t trust the quality of the water where I live anymore.
Therefore, I previously used to boil all my drinking water, but that became a hassle, and as we all know, boiling a kettle is one of the appliances that is known to use up a lot of electricity.
As a result, I purchased myself an eSpring Water Purifier, and once I had got it all set up it was a joy to use. And I especially enjoy the fact that I now don’t have to continually boil kettles of water for drinking purposes and to brush my teeth.
And an additional thing that I immediately noticed was that the water that I am now drinking tastes so much better.
However, after only a few weeks of using my brand-new water filter the red light on the display was showing and beeping when I turned on the water at the tap.
Surely the filter cartridge couldn’t need replacing already as I had been told that they should last up to a year!
By the way, I also made a short video about this topic and you may want to watch it before you continue reading this article.
Usually, the eSpring water purifer will beep and show a red symbol to alert you that it’s time to change new filter. But on my case, the filter is still new. To fix this issue, I opened the eSpring cover, took out the filter and reinstalled the it back.

So, what did I do and find that rectified this problem? Firstly, I turned off the water flow and the red light stopped flashing and the beeping also stopped.
Then of course, as you should always do, I turned off the power supply before taking any further action.
I then removed the filter cover of my eSpring Water Filter. I removed the electronic display panel, and then I disconnected the tubing from the water taps to the tubes connecting the Purifier to tubes from the water taps.
I checked the Purifier tubes to ensure that there were no blockages visible.
Next, I unscrewed the filter housing cap which secures the filter cartridge in place. On top of where the filter is inserted you will see a handle which enables you to lift the filter out from the housing.
This can sometimes require a bit of effort due to a build of pressure in the filter housing. Then I emptied any remaining water from the filter housing.
What I found was that the plastic white securing ring underneath the filter had come loose, or had not been screwed on correctly. I removed the securing ring completely, and then ensured that I screwed it back in place properly and securely.
I then proceeded to reattach all the parts that I had needed to remove, ensuring to secure them in place and tighten them properly.
Before plugging in and turning the eSpring Water Filter back on, I made sure to give it a good wipe clean. As with all electronic devices, and especially those that carry out some form of cleaning process, they do need to be regularly cleaned and maintained.
Finally, I switched the Water Filter back on and turned on the taps to ensure that the problem was fixed and that the red light was no longer displayed and the beeping had stopped.
Bingo! My Water Filter was working correctly again, and I had been able to fix it myself without the need to call a plumber or customer service.
