Use pressure gauges. A before-and-after gauge pair is the cleanest way to confirm the calculated pressure-drop trigger, especially on sediment-heavy wells.
Separate outdoor demand. If irrigation bypasses the filter, exclude it from daily gallons. If it runs through the filter, it can dominate the interval.
