The Arlo Security Light works by means of Battery, which are very practical for use outside. From the box it arrives with fully charged Battery so that one can start use almost immediately. To charge it, simply press the button for sync and by means of the app on the phone strip and bind the light to the base.
On itself the light does not have a switch. Everything one controls by means of the app, also verify it and choose the mode.
How to Charge and Use the Arlo Security Light Battery
To charge the Battery, one uses the USB cable together with the internal AC adapter for power, that comes together with the light. When the light is assembled outside, one must bring it inside for the charge, because the adapter works only for use inside the house. Worth noting, the Arlo Security Light does not have LED display during the charge or when it is fully charged, similar to some Arlo cameras.
The Arlo Security Light uses the same Battery as the Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2. It is made up of lithium cells. Because of that, replacement batteries made four those camera models also work for the light.
One says, that the life of the Battery reaches around four months during standard use. When one automatically activates the light and leaves it shine at maximum brightness, one full charge lasts for more than six hours. The number of activations and the time, that they stay active, both affect the life of the Battery.
In the settings one can change the length of the glow.
These lights work by means of Battery energy and have their own built-in motion sensor. They operate alone, without need of Arlo cameras, and act as independent system for automatic lighting on move. One buys them individually or in set.
Also it is possible to keep the light connected by means of the Arlo solar panel or the outside adapter, that one sells separate. Timers are available, so one sets the light for various occasions, for instance when some are home, work or vacation.
Some batteries, that one charged at the end of April, yet had more than fifty percent of energy months later, although those lights only worked occasionally weekly. The backup batteries cause a bit of trouble. Some of them last just as long as the original, while others require charge weekly instead of every two-three weeks.
Moreover, one does not need to disconnect or remove the light from the Arlo base to exchange the Battery, which avoids many problems. Some setups with solarpanel charge had issues, where the display shows charge, but the batteries do not truly fill, although updates occasionallysettled that alone.
